Fractal Geometry
Look at fractals' forever
Deep edges delving
Into layer upon layer and see
Nature shrink to infinity
And give birth to a star.
Then with the speed of light
You must return to the other side of your brain, but you
Will not remember anything unless you
Understand that love holds all secrets of the universe.
Everything creeping, crawling, swimming, walking, flying, climbing,
falling,
seeding,
rooting,
reaching, searching,
thirsting, hungry,
grinding,
growing,
collecting sediment is so much
Better than a new t. v. and a
Baby Einstein video.

For Poets United,
ReplyDeleteIn loving memory of Albert Einstein who said, "Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better."
Wonderful! I love this, yes love does do that :D
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteEinstein, like you, nurtured awe -- he loved the complexity of things. And from all reports, he was a very loving dude. I don't think he would have said "love" was behind or above nature. Love is what we do! IMHO (perhaps you feel the same)
ReplyDeleteVery fun poem. Thanx
Your humble opinion is welcome here. And you are right. Love is a verb.
DeleteIndeed love does hold all secrets of the universe...your point is well made. I enjoyed your ending. (I used to enjoy those Baby Einstein videos though...LOL.)
ReplyDeleteYes, I enjoyed the videos, too. Just feeling guilty about them being the back-up babysitter. Ah, but those days are past.
DeleteWOW! Libby!!!!!!!! I LOVE your header photo! I want to come and chant beside the fire with you! You lucky!!!!! I also love your poem, and the Einstein quote about nature - we appear to be kindred spirits!
ReplyDeleteKindred spirit, you are welcome at my fire anytime. I changed my template after reading other blogs with the same one. It was distracting me from their poetry. Now I can read their poetry in peace.
Delete"love holds all secrets of the universe."
ReplyDeleteindeed! excellent take on the prompt!!!

Hey, I recognize you. Lithium and mudpies. You're the one who knows there is a song for everything. I think "Lithium" would work with my poem, too. One of the elemental Big-Bangers -- that and Einstein was bipolar.
Deletelove how you brought in the "collecting sediment..." line. Really 'Earths' the piece. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, thank you, and I really love how you said that.
DeleteHi Libby! Thank you so much for visiting my blog--love Einstein and really enjoyed your poem :-)
