The Heaviness of Thirteen

Four haiku on the heaviness of thirteen:

Superstitious weight
Convenes Friday with full moon
A witches’ coven

Atomic number
Of most abundant metal
Aluminium

Amendment Thirteen
Abolished the slavery
After civil war

Thirteen is heavy
Another hole but more glaze
A baker’s dozen

  1. Yes, 13 is heavy, heavy. Your haiku are weighty with positive and significant thirteens. I love them, but giggled at more glaze.

  2. I love this. So creative and the fact that it was Amendment 13 that abolished slavery seems like poetic justice...like a redemption of the bad luck connotation or something, you know?

  3. With so many bad associations with 13, it is good to see there is at least a positive one.

  5. Indeed 13 bears a lot of weight. I liked the examples you found & the way you formed them into haiku. And, ha, I will take a baker's dozen, please!

  11. Again, another great 13. I feel like I've been educated with the Amendment 13 reference. I had forgotten about that... Wonderful lucky and unlucky piece here! kudos!
