Four haiku on the heaviness of thirteen:
Superstitious weight
Convenes Friday with full moon
A witches’ coven
Atomic number
Of most abundant metal
Aluminium
Amendment Thirteen
Abolished the slavery
After civil war
Thirteen is heavy
Another hole but more glaze
Yes, 13 is heavy, heavy. Your haiku are weighty with positive and significant thirteens. I love them, but giggled at more glaze.
ReplyDeleteI love this. So creative and the fact that it was Amendment 13 that abolished slavery seems like poetic justice...like a redemption of the bad luck connotation or something, you know?
ReplyDeleteWith so many bad associations with 13, it is good to see there is at least a positive one.
ReplyDeleteI love this..has the permanence of rings through a tree stump..counting time..also is that a ratite on your shoulder - lovely I have a little one called Toby!
ReplyDeleteSorry I had a technical malfunction with your comment on my post Libby - I copied and pasted so you are still there..thank you
DeleteIndeed 13 bears a lot of weight. I liked the examples you found & the way you formed them into haiku. And, ha, I will take a baker's dozen, please!
ReplyDeleteha. if it was donuts....i might just find a way to take 13.....and 13 colonies...kinda glad of the ammendment...it was at least a step you know.....
ReplyDeleteyes weighty 13...love them all...
ReplyDeleteLove the "more glaze"........and the witches' coven!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed these various slants on the subject.
ReplyDeleteSweet! Oh weight, that's the doughnuts . . .or is that wait . . . crazy I must be witched. lol
ReplyDeleteAgain, another great 13. I feel like I've been educated with the Amendment 13 reference. I had forgotten about that... Wonderful lucky and unlucky piece here! kudos!
