Submission

Waiting for a god to speak in still small voice,
A booming dirge of angelic warning!
To a soul of indecision left to choice,
Waiting for a god to speak in still small voice,
Any direction given is a cause to rejoice.
Freedom of will begins with mourning
Waiting for a god to speak in still small voice
A booming dirge of angelic warning.

Submission, a triolet.

  1. Oh how brave to attempt a triolet. Good on you! I find them very difficult.

  2. How easy it is to miss that still small voice when and if it finally comes!

  4. love the line "freedom of will begins with mourning": there are many truths in there. This is a heck of a difficult form to pull off. You have managed it with dexterity and elegance and brought to it your calm and clear voice. Many a thought to be had today.

  8. And how often does that booming dirge of warnings drown out the still small voice. I loved the cadence you created in this poem!
